Contrary to what many think, research reveals that most babies are not born with blue eyes, but brown. A study carried out by the Newborn Eye Screen Test (NEST) with 192 newborns revealed that 63% had brown eyes and only 20% had blue eyes.
The key thing to know is that the eye color of babies will depend on genetics and a pigment called melanin. Estonia and Finland are the capitals with the most blue eyes in the world, about 89% of the population have this color in their eyes.

According to Live Science, a baby's eye color can change, yes. She reveals that this change can occur up to the age of two. This happens due to the amount of melanin that develops in a part of the eye called the iris.
