Through the Instituto Brasil Solidário (IBS), in 2017, the Games of Financial education was launched with a different proposal: financial education for public school students through interactive games. Now, the project has managed to reach more than one million students, divided into 26 states in Brazil and is present in 292 municipalities. For 2023, it is part of the plan to expand the project to more municipalities.
Around 3,962 schools have the financial education program and have more than 60,000 teachers engaged in this function. Teachers receive guidance through Distance Learning (EaD), have access to didactic materials for use in the classroom, everything to be able to apply the games.

Large companies such as Ypê, Bayer, Bank of America, Instituto XP, Seacrest Petróleo, Aliança pela Educação Financeira sponsor the project, which takes place on Brazilian soil, but does not stop there. In fact, the strong investment in the project made the intention desirable in other countries in South America, such as in schools in Chile, Uruguay, and Colombia.
Financial education and interaction in the classroom
Interactive education has shown strength over the years and the project indicates that there are other ways to learn beyond the traditional model. Another subject discussed is the teaching of financial education in schools and there are great results that students can take into adult life.
Two teaching games are used in the classroom, “Piquenique”, a card game that encourages reflection on how it is possible to save money from a personal point of view; and “Bons Negócios” is capable of stimulating personal capacity to invest and undertake. The teaching of financial education through interactive games can happen from the first year of elementary school to the third year of high school.
