The Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) is offering a course free of charge aimed at specialization in communication for people with hearing impairment. In total, 10,000 vacancies were made available.
The course aims to train professionals in the health area, including managers involved in the Primary Care, to communicate effectively with people with some degree of hearing impairment or deafness definitive.

Although the course is aimed at healthcare professionals, it is important to highlight that it is open to anyone interested in the subject.
This means that those who are not healthcare professionals also have the opportunity to participate and acquire valuable knowledge about how to communicate properly with people with hearing impairments and deafness.
The fact that the course is completely virtual and asynchronous brings a significant advantage for students. This means they have the flexibility to set their own study schedule and access classes from anywhere, as long as they have an internet connection.
Study for free at UFMA
The free course offered by UFMA has a total workload of 180 hours. It is important to note that participants who complete all the content within the stipulated period and perform well on the virtual assessments will be eligible to receive a certificate of participation.
Entitled “Effective Communication with Hearing Impaired and Deaf Persons in Primary Health Care”, the course aims to challenge participants to adopt new perspectives in identification and inclusion, expanding all the possibilities related to communication that a deaf or hearing-impaired person can to have.
To enroll in the training, interested parties must access the site official course, on a portal controlled by UFMA.
