Keep these foods out of the microwave!
Although a microwave oven is a practical appliance, the reason why some items should not be heated in it has to do with the temperature this appliance produces. Check out a list of foods that should not be heated in the microwave:
- Green leaves
Leaves of any kind, such as lettuce, escarole and arugula, should not be placed in a microwave oven. In addition to withering, the leaves lose many nutrients when exposed to this appliance. So avoid putting them on, the ideal is to consume fresh!
- Peppers make eyes sting
The gas released by hot peppers can burn your eyes, nostrils, mouth, and even your skin. Also, in most cases, they can even catch fire inside the microwave. This goes for any type of pepper (Examples: girl's finger, bell pepper, chilli or pout).
- Eggs
Never cook a whole egg in the shell in the microwave! It could explode and cause a serious accident. As with hard-boiled eggs, you should also note that slicing and heating for a short time is ideal.
- Be careful with the water
It may seem silly, but no matter how careful we are, heating water in the microwave is a very bad idea. This is because water can reach the boiling point very quickly, especially in small amounts, which can cause an explosion. So the ideal is to warm up on the stove!
- Oil
Like water, oil heats up quickly and can even ignite in the microwave or splatter hot oil on you. Therefore, reserve the preparation of this food for other more suitable appliances, such as electric stoves, AirFryers and traditional stoves.
