Giftedness is not a disease and can be diagnosed by a doctor

• Notice if your child learns faster and more easily compared to other children;
• See if he is interested in different subjects and is always up to date with information;
• Make an integrated assessment between academic learning, artistic and sports development;
• Pay attention if your child is self-taught, that is, if he learns the contents by himself and if he does not like routine;
• Note how he expresses himself and communicates his ideas and opinions, especially if he has power of argument and persuasion, accompanied by a rich vocabulary;
• See how your child relates to the activities he has a special affinity for. This is because, normally, gifted people focus more on activities of interest to them;
• Examine whether your child is a questioning child. The habit of always asking the reason or why of things is an indication of people who are not conformed and seek to understand what is behind the events.

If you observe two or more of these signs in your child, talk to those responsible for the pedagogical team at the school where he/she studies and with the pediatrician who monitors the little one. The first tests to check whether a child is gifted are carried out from 2 years and 6 months of age.
