It's nothing new that with each passing day, more people are becoming concerned about their mental health, especially after the pandemic period in the last two years. Research carried out by the Brazilian Association of Psychiatry shows that, within Brazil, approximately 50 million Brazilians are suffering from some illness related to mental illness.

There is a variation of disorders, which range from depression, mood disorders, attention deficit, to anxiety. The most dangerous thing is that these diseases do not have a fixed age range, they can be installed both in children and adolescents as well as adults and the elderly, without a doubt this needs to receive due attention from health public.

In this scenario, according to André Janones' statement, President Lula has already confirmed that the development of a mental health secretary will take place.

The deputy also manifested himself on social networks and showed his followers a little of his enthusiasm and expectation above this project saying the following: “think of how proud I will be when this to happen".

One of the requests that I sent to Lula and that he accepted to incorporate into his proposals when I decided support it, was the creation of a national secretary of mental health within the structure of the ministry of health!

Think how proud I'll be when that happens❤️

However, there is still no concrete and official information related to the subject, these are just speculations.

So that we can really contemplate such proposals being put into practice, we will have to wait until the next year, when the president-elect, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), will assume the position of president of the Executive.

The second round, held on October 30, had the candidate of the PT party chosen as president with 50.90%, while his opponent, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), reached around 49.10%.
