unknown call squelch

The first tool we want to introduce you to is the unknown call silencer. This feature may have a different name depending on the version of iOS and the translation used on your iPhone.

Anyway, this feature makes the smartphone refuse any call that is not from a number saved in your phonebook or that you have already had some kind of contact with.

With this, telemarketing calls or undue charges, for example, are promptly refused, avoiding inconvenience. Here's how to activate this function on your iPhone:

  1. Go to the “Settings” or “Settings” menu on your iPhone;
  2. Then, look for the “Unknown caller squelch” option, or similar, and activate it.

Once you've done that, any calls not recognized by your iPhone will be sent to Voicemail automatically, without even being notified when you're calling.

Later, you will be able to check the avoided calls, which will be available in the phone's list of missed calls.

Before activating the option, make sure that all the numbers you want are saved in your phonebook, in order not to miss important calls.

Spam filter apps

Those who want to avoid annoying spam calls on their iPhone can also install an application with a spam filter. There are several Apple-certified options that fully integrate with iOS.

To download one of these applications, just go to the Apple Store and search for “blocking and caller identification apps”. One of the most popular and recommended is Robkiller, which specializes in tracking automated calls.

When identifying calls, the application tracks their origin in order to identify whether or not it is spam. If so, the call is immediately dropped, avoiding user discomfort.

After downloading and installing the application, the user must go to the following path: Settings > Phone > Call blocking and identification. Finally, just allow the installed application to do its job.
