Although Sony and Marvel Studios have now teamed up to make the Spider man by Tom Holland, it wasn't always like this. In a new book, Sony president Amy Pascal says she was initially "super resentful" during her first meeting with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige.

“Pascal wasted no time in expressing his strong desire to have Feige directly involved creatively in the making of The Spectacular. Sony Pictures' Spider-Man 3," reads an excerpt from the newly released The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “Excited by the ideas her team currently had, Pascal said she would send Feige the latest draft.”
However, Feige allegedly told her that his plans for the film, which would have had Andrew Garfield reprise the role of the web-slinger, would not work. Instead, he hinted at an alternate plan that Marvel would manage.
“At first, I was super resentful,” admits Pascal in the book. “I think I burst into tears and threw him out of my office, or threw a sandwich at him – not sure which…”
The two resolved their differences eventually. Tom Holland made his debut as Peter Parker in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, before going on to star in his own trilogy.
We may see Spidey in Spider-Man: Never Go Home, which hits theaters on December 17th. In the meantime, make sure you're up to date with the MCU.
