Whatsapp has been trying to improve the privacy of its users more and more and has shown results. An example of this is feature updates released in 2021 of single view images or videos. Now, those who receive any media with this feature will have the screen capture functions blocked during viewing, thus generating a increase in WhatsApp security.

The famous messaging platform seeks to improve the privacy and security of its users with each update. Therefore, it launched a feature which gave users the possibility to send media for single viewing, which would not be saved in the memory of the recipient's device.
However, previously, when receiving media, anyone could save them through screenshots or screen recordings. So, to ensure that recipients don't keep the sent media, WhatsApp has updated to block this possibility.
How do single view messages work?
To send these media is quite easy, after all, just click on the icon next to the option to caption the photo and thus, the photo can only be viewed by the recipient only once. During the preview, it is impossible to use the screenshot function and, in addition, the preview is unavailable via WhatsApp Web.
WhatsApp seeks to extend the feature to text messages
Currently, the platform wants to extend the single view feature to text messages as well, so it has been working to launch the “text view once” function.
For those who have the beta version of the application on Android, they can already try the feature that allows messages to disappear after being viewed once.
When available, the feature will be shown as a lock icon with the send message logo. And just as it's impossible to send single-view images and videos to others, the same will be the case with these messages.

The instant messaging platform is currently owned by Meta, which in addition to owning WhatsApp, also owns Facebook and Instagram. The platform is available for Android, BlackBerry OS, iOS, Symbian, Windows Phone and Nokia. WhatsApp has been trying to improve its users' experience with frequent updates to its features.
