Cat Adopts Puppies After Losing Her Own Puppies

Katryn is a cat who adopted puppies after losing her own puppies and moved the internet with her story. The kitten was wandering the streets of Langebaan, South Africa, when she was rescued by volunteers from the animal shelter Langebaan Animal Care. She was accompanied by her puppies, who were unable to survive after reaching the shelter.

The kitten continued to produce milk for days, so the volunteers decided to keep her for care and later have her neutered.

Should I share the soap with my family?

Because she missed her children so much, the cat was sad and cried several times a day after them. So the president of Langebaan Animal Care, Izelle Marallich, decided to put the kitten in her own home.

Izelle's house is a temporary home for many other animals that, for some reason, could not stay at the shelter. So there Katryn was surrounded by new friends who could make up for the absence of her pups.

Izelle said in an interview that the cat is extremely sweet and affectionate and was not afraid of other animals, not even the biggest dogs. Thus, in the first contact, the cat rubbed against the other pets.

How Katryn met her foster pups

Katryn's story changed when the shelter found a litter of stray dogs that had lost their mother. These kittens were taken to Izelle's house and the cat simply fell in love with them.

She started to bond with the puppies and always soothed them when they cried and spent the whole day with them.

The dogs, at first, found the kitten's presence strange, especially when she licked them, however Katryn persisted and managed to win them over. She took care of them like her own puppies.

The cat began to breastfeed them, in addition to cleaning each one daily and making sure they were not disturbed by another animal.

Izelle says that she was extremely happy and surprised with this attitude of the kitten, because it did her a lot of good that she was suffering for the loss of the children and also for the dogs, who felt the absence of the care and love of the mother who became he was.
