A generation Z has left the automobile market confused by a phenomenon that is interesting to observe. Of all the previous ones, this is the generation where people least choose to be behind the wheel. According to a portion of it, this is an opportunity to move away from the “car-centric culture” that is seen in the United States.
Those born between 1996 and 2012 choose other means to escape driving and are not interested in driving licenses either. This is the case for 23-year-old Gabe Balog, who told The Post that “it would be much better for everyone if public transport was more accessible”, stating that he only got his license when he reached 20 years.

Generation Z prefers not to drive: what has happened?
According to Federal Highway Administration data put on the agenda by the Green Car Congress, it was found that 18-year-old Americans with a driver's license dropped 20% compared to 1983 (80% to 61%). Adolescents aged 16 also represented a drop of 20% compared to the same year.
This has happened due to the influence of digital media and the ease of paying cheaply for a long or short distance trip. Younger people have the option of requesting an Uber or any other travel application in the palm of their hand whenever they need it.
This, of course, is a reflection of how the new generation has adapted to the American culture lifestyle.
During the research, some people were interviewed so that they could create a solid base in the data. One high school student even stated that she understands that the car is a matter of necessity, but that she is anxious, so driving seems intimidating.
In another statement, a teenager said that she does not like cars and does not trust who she is driving, as she had contact with many reports of accidents.
