Danoninho has been on the Brazilian market for almost 50 years, and what few people know is that it is, in fact, a very soft cheese with a neutral taste. Many people believe that it is a type of yogurt. Danoninho's cheese is petit suisse, originally French, coming from the Normandy region. It is a fresh and very soft cheese, pasteurized and fermented from cow's milk. A part of the production process of petit suisse cheese is the removal of whey, different from what usually happens with the manufacture of yoghurts on the market. Therefore, it is possible to say that Danoninho is considered more a cheese than, as many still believe, a yogurt.
Danoninho was also created in France, in 1967, by the Danone brand. The company, at that time, was already known as a consolidated manufacturer in the yogurt market. Here in Brazil, Danoninho began to be produced in 1973, that is, 47 years ago. What many don't know is that Danone is a Spanish brand.
The company was born out of Isaac Carasso's desire to undertake, back in 1919. The success was so great over the years, that in 1929 Danone expanded to France, and after just over 10 years decided to cross the Atlantic, arriving in the United States. A curious fact is that Danoninho was born from a merger between Danone and Gervais, a cheese manufacturer in France, in 1967. In 1970, Danone became a worldwide brand and a bestseller in the market.
In order for the product to have a more pleasant and attractive appearance in the eyes of children, who were the target audience of this product, and also changing its consistency, a little calcium, minerals, vitamins and pulp of fruit. And from this mixture, the famous Danoninho was born, which everyone knows, because, probably, this product has already been, at some point in life, in the refrigerator of Brazilians.
