Some reviews have drawn the attention of users who request the service of some well-rated establishments. What has happened is that people have started to notice that they don't always get what they order or the quality of the product isn't always as good as they say in the review.
The application offers many services and choosing one that you like is not always easy or practical. This is exactly why users rely on the rating/comments that appear on the platform.
Looking at the rating given to the establishment helps users to choose what to order, but what has been happening is that assessments are not as reliable as before and choosing or carrying out an order/service has become a task difficult.
To the assessments highs are not what they seem to be and users are getting pretty upset. As a result, the platform began to receive some complaints regarding this situation.
When doing an analysis, it was noticed that many comments and/or evaluations contained the names of people who had the same name and this increased the evaluation of the establishment. Furthermore, it was noticed that the same customer placed at least three orders on the same day and the orders received the same amount of stars.
dubious reviews
It was observed that “some users” or the same users were commenting and rating several times to increase the rating of the establishment. When analyzing and removing the evaluations, it was noticed that some establishments that contained a note 5, dropped to lower notes.
From this it is possible to confirm the suspicion of some users who said that people evaluated several restaurants in the same region, ending the suspicions. In addition, users also noticed that some establishments were registered with the same data and had the same period of time.
Pronouncement of iFood
iFood published an ad and explained how its policies work to prevent or cancel false reviews.
They explained that there are two ways to carry out fake reviews. One is called leverage: which is when requests that are not real and are only requested to increase the rating of the establishment.
The other is called vandalism: these are false requests and are intended to lower the establishment's grade and generate losses. In view of this, the network developed some standards and reported that it managed to reduce the number of false reviews by around 60%.
