cultivation conditions

This plant has a long life and prefers mild environments (16 to 26ºC), not tolerating cold.

The ideal for its cultivation are environments with partial shade, and can be cultivated even in environments indoors, as long as they have good lighting, but they do not tolerate direct sunlight, which can even burn their sheets.

As it is a vine, prefer to plant it on a wall, a tree or provide supports for its branches – trellises and wires.

She needs a soil that is always moist, so the ideal is to make a good drainage system and water every 3 days.

Planting

If you want to grow the Wax Flower, know that it is possible to do this even indoors: when keeping this plant in a small vase it does not develop much.

To plant you will need a seedling or staked branch. Follow the instructions:

  • Select the planting site and add the substrate, preferably the one made up of coconut fiber and pine;
  • Water it and add the seedlings, slightly squeezing the earth around so that they are firm;
  • Wait 20 days for the roots to develop and do not fertilize for about 3 months;
  • After that time, enrich the soil with organic fertilizer and earthworm humus.

Fertilization must be done at least once a year, especially in winter, before flowering.

Remember to water the plant regularly in warmer periods and reduce watering in winter.

leaf propagation

It is possible to make new seedlings using its leaves: just remove some leaves from an adult plant and bury them in the earth.

Finally, it is important that they are covered halfway by the earth and with the cable facing downwards. Furthermore, the substrate must be well nourished to ensure budding.
