Sweet potato chips can be made both in the oven and using the airfryer, but today you are going to see how to make them using the conventional oven, since not everyone has the fryer available.
Baked Sweet Potato Chips
Ingredients
- 1 unit of large sweet potato;
- 1 tablespoon olive oil;
- black pepper, oregano and salt to taste.
Method of preparation
- The first thing to do is wash, peel and then slice the sweet potato;
- Take the slices and place them on a large baking sheet that is lined with parchment or aluminum foil;
- Rub a little olive oil with a brush on each slice and add the seasonings you prefer (black pepper, oregano and salt to taste). If you prefer, you can just leave them with salt or in natura;
- Preheat the oven to 180°C for 10 minutes;
- Take the potatoes to the oven for approximately 15 to 20 minutes;
- Then, remove from the oven, turn the slices so that they are browned on both sides and return to the oven for another 10 to 15 minutes;
- Finally, when they are dry and crispy, turn off the oven, let them cool and they are ready to eat!
extra tips
- Ideally, the slices should be cut thinly, but not too much so that they don't burn quickly;
- When lining the baking dish, the ideal is to use aluminum foil, as it will better preserve the heat in the oven, making the potato bake faster;
- If your oven has the option to turn on the fan, do so as it will make the chips crispier. Otherwise, it is important that you open the door a little every 5 minutes to release the steam.
