Since last Wednesday, May 31, the Brazilian Army has been receiving applications to fill 114 vacancies in the prestigious Military Engineering Institute (IME), located in Rio de Janeiro.
Among the available vacancies, 87 mid-level opportunities are offered, aimed at candidates who wish to enroll in undergraduate courses at IME.

Of these vacancies, 75 are for active duty officers, that is, for those who wish to become military as soon as possible, and 12 are for candidates who wish to join the reserve.
In addition, there are also 27 vacancies for trained engineers, all of them aimed at professionals looking to build a military career as active-duty officers.

Evidences
For candidates for mid-level vacancies at the Military Institute of Engineering, the first stage of the selection process will consist of objective tests, which are scheduled for September 24th. These tests will have the contents of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
The discursive tests will be on different days:
- Mathematics: October 23;
- Physics: October 24;
- Chemistry: October 25th;
- Portuguese, Writing and English: October 26th.
Graduated professionals who wish to join the Military Institute of Engineering will also undergo a selection process consisting of two stages of written tests.
On the 25th of October, they will take the specific knowledge test and, on the 26th, they will take the English and Portuguese language tests.
After passing the stages of the written tests, the candidates classified to enter the position will proceed to the next stages of the selection process.
The first stage after the tests will be the health inspection, where candidates will undergo evaluations medical checks to verify that they meet the physical and health requirements established by the norms military.
Then there will be the physical fitness exam, which will consist of challenging physical tests to assess candidates' endurance, agility and physical ability.
Remuneration
During the training course, graduated engineers will receive remuneration in the amount of R$ 8,245, as established by military regulations. Also during this period, future officers will receive specific training in one of the ten specialties available.
These specialties encompass different areas of engineering and open up opportunities for professionals to develop their technical skills and specialized knowledge.
The graduation courses offered by the Instituto Militar de Engenharia (IME) have a total duration of five academic years.
Those who are approved in the selection process will receive a monthly salary of R$ 1,334, as part of the Training and Qualification Program for Active Officers (PFCOA).
Enrollment
For candidates interested in joining undergraduate courses, the registration fee is R$ 140. As for trained professionals who wish to build a military career as active duty officers, the registration fee is R$ 150.
