In England, a woman had bought a fish for dinner and discovered he was still alive after 48 hours in a freezer. The lucky one was Cindy Lao, in the city of Cheltenham.
According to her, the crucian carp was bought from a fishmonger in Greenford when she was visiting friends in London for the Chinese New Year celebrations on 10 February. After getting home, she put the fish in the freezer and didn't think about it again until she took the carp out to cook dinner. The lady was shocked to discover that even after 48 hours in the freezer, the fish was still alive!

crucian carp
Crucian carp, also known as cold water carp, is a freshwater fish native to Europe and Asia. It is a species much appreciated by sport fishermen and is also used in fish farming, being raised in lakes, dams and tanks.
This species is known to be resistant to cold water and low oxygen content, and can be found in lakes, rivers, streams and other bodies of water in temperate climates. It is able to adapt to different temperature and food conditions, which makes it a
species Relatively easy to breed in captivity.“Cindy called me when she thought she saw the carp's gills moving and asked me what I thought. They really were. I was in doubt whether I should put an end to the poor fellow's suffering," cmentioned her husband, Paul Lewis-Borman, according to “Metro”.
As we have already mentioned, the fish is very resistant in cold waters. So Cindy's husband put him in a bathtub. For 20 minutes, he was listless in the water. But then "it went back to normal". The couple named the carp Lazarus, after a figure in the Bible who rose from the dead. Funny, isn't it?!
“He's been through a lot. It had been sandwiched between all those dead fish all this time and it was almost dinner. We are pleased that he now has a good home. The lady (who took him in) told us that he now has a best friend fish who he is happily swimming with in his new home”, concluded Paul.
