Two students, who are part of the municipal education network, in Rio de Janeiro, were taken to the police station to provide clarifications, last Thursday (13). According to the Civil Police, the young people would be using fake profiles on social networks to plan attacks.
The identification of this fact happened through intelligence work, which had the partnership of the security forces, together with the Municipal Secretary of Education. Threats and attacks against the schools these students attended were investigated.

It is worth mentioning that, since last week, Sec. Municipal de Educação has been promoting actions with the intention of cases like these of threats on the internet.
During the Easter holiday, the city of Rio de Janeiro exchanged information with the Education Department and the authorities. The intention was to ensure the safety of students and teaching units.
Immediately, the School Patrol of the Municipal Guard, as well as the Military Police were called in to reinforce security in the schools.

Safety strategies for schools in Rio de Janeiro
The Municipal Department of Education implemented a safety protocol in all teaching units, totaling 1,549 schools. This protocol is able to act in situations of risk to the school community, such as threats that circulate on the internet, for example.
When that happens, the secretariat team takes action and reports the case to the Civil Police and to CiberLab, which is a laboratory specialized in cybernetic operations.
From that moment on, investigations were initiated to ensure the safety of students, as well as teachers and other school professionals.
According to Education representatives, every effort will be made to ensure safety in the school environment.
Actions that were taken because of the threats
The city hall acted in partnership with the state security forces and these students were sent to the police station to give statements.
In addition, the Interdisciplinary Support Center for School Units (NIAP) was also present to offer psychological support to students and ensure that they receive all the socio-emotional support necessary.
Due to the repercussions of the case, Mayor Eduardo Paes also commented on the situation and took the opportunity to reinforce that the City Hall is working together with the civil and military police and the Ministry of Justice, since the episodes of attacks in Blumenau and also in São Paul.
