Use Play Back on iPhone

With the Tap Back feature, available for iOS 14, you can quickly press two or three times on the back of your iPhone (where the apple is) to open Control Center, take a screenshot, enable specific accessibility features, and more more.

For example, you can set your phone to take a screenshot with two taps on the screen or activate Shazam with three taps on the screen. To use the feature, you must first access the accessibility control, so it's not easily noticeable when using the device's apps.

Learn how to activate the “Play Back” function

  • First, check if you have the latest version of the iOS system (allowed for iPhone 8, minimally);
  • Go to “Settings”, then “Accessibility” and, finally, press “Play Back”;
  • Choose which option you want (“Double Tap” or “Triple Tap”) and activate the desired action;
  • With that, you are able to double or triple tap the back of the iPhone and activate the action of your choice.

In addition, you can even set a double or triple tap to activate an Accessibility Shortcut, which lets you quickly access features like AssistiveTouch, Siri Shortcuts, Magnifier, Reachability, and VoiceOver.

Other accessibility features on iPhone.

  • VoiceOver

Using the VoiceOver function, you can hear what is happening on the screen and are able to navigate with simple gestures.

  • Guided Access

This feature restricts device usage to a single app and lets you choose which apps are available. When you allow a child to use your device or when you are in danger, for example, you can use the Guided Access feature.

  • Switch Control

With the Switch Control capability, you can use the controls to select, tap or arrange items, scan, and even draw at will. To do this, simply use a controller to choose an item or location on the screen and then choose an action.
