On his Instagram, dog trainer and expert Adam Spivey shares some tips for people who take care of animals. In this case, these tips are much more related to the behavior of the animal in certain contexts.

In that sense, he pointed out that there are three very efficient tips to make a dog calmer and less messy.

On the other hand, Spivey warns that it is not a treatment, so it cannot be said that it seeks to “cure” the dog. That's because we start from an understanding that any dog's behavior is just an expression of its personality.

However, by following these tips it will be possible to lower the animal's energy level.

Correct practice of physical exercise

For starters, Spivey says physical exercise will be a must for your dog, which includes both walks and games with the owners. This will help to expend the energies that are accumulated in the animal.

However, there is an important point: it is necessary that the exercise allows the dog to explore the world, such as smelling things and walking freely.

adequate rest

Soon after, the trainer says that rest will be fundamental for the dog to be calmer. Therefore, ideally, the caregiver should be able to provide their dog with adequate time to rest, which needs to be at least two hours.

This will make him feel much more relaxed for the rest of the day.

“You start by using a box as a resting place to start for at least two hours after exercising. After two weeks, you can get out of the crate and use a dog bed.”

The trainer emphasizes that letting your pooch relax after exercise is important to help him stay calm for the rest of the day.

focus on diet

Finally, Spivey shows that the proper diet is the last item that the owners will need to observe in order for the dog to be calmer. D

just as the human body gets very electric with substances like coffee or sugar, the animal will also have more energy with a wrong diet. Therefore, it is essential to resort to the appropriate food.
