The Counterpoint Research report answers the most common question among users of Apple products. The analyzed cost is 3.7% higher than the previous model, which is the iPhone 13 Pro.

The cost of manufacturing the device for Apple, in the direct conversion of the dollar represents R$ 2,398, which refers to the 128 GB model of Apple's premium cell phone, sold in Brazil for R$ 9,499.

The items that helped to raise the cost were the screen, the processor and the camera, a trio that received an upgrade, especially in the Pro and Pro Max models.

However, on the other hand, aspects such as the components needed to make the 5G network viable have become the more into account, which ended up helping to balance the total investment for the manufacture of the device.

Why the cost of US$ 464 to manufacture the devices?

The $464 figure mentioned in the Counterpoint Research report took into account the entire list of combined materials that the brand uses in the manufacture of the model of the device in question, which is the iPhone 14 Pro.

This means that they are considered components and parts that integrate the production of a single device, in addition to photographic sensors, display and chipsets.

In addition, the research also told that it takes around US$ 474 to create an iPhone 14 Pro Max with mmWave technology. This other variation of the device, which has a sub-6 GHZ network, would cost the Cupertino giant around US$ 454.

In today's exchange rate, the production cost of the devices would be around R$ 2,449 and R$ 2,346, respectively.

There is a distinction between one generation and another that does not reach a high margin. The last noticeable increase was from a 26% mark, which was seen in the upgrade from the iPhone 11 family to the iPhone 12.

The 26% increase was due to the high investment in components compatible with the 5G line, which was inaugurated at the company in 2021.
