With each passing day, technological advances are growing at an absurdly fast pace. news inventions and updates occur frequently. One such case is the Boston Dynamics robot. This great development, right after its creation, could already run and jump. What we now know is that the robot is still capable of grabbing and throwing things! This past Wednesday, the 18th, Boston Dynamics released a new update of the Atlas humanoid robot. When he was developed, he was already able to run and jump over complex terrain, but now he can grab and throw things, as he now displays functional claw-like hands.
Atlas, then, gains a new life. He stops being just a pack mule and becomes something even closer to a human. The robot is able to pick up and drop things and participate in an activity more actively.
For those who are curious to know what their composition is made of, the claws have a fixed part, which is equivalent to four fingers of a hand, as well as a mobile part, which works like a thumb.
According to its developer, Boston Dynamics, the claws were designed so that the robot would be able to perform weight lifting tasks. This whole theory was first put into practice in the Super Bowl commercial, where Atlas was holding a keg over his head.
Atlas ended up becoming a phenomenon on the networks. The Bonton Dynamics robot has long been a star of many viral videos in which it has effectively demonstrated the robotic capabilities of the company.
When it comes to the humanoid robotic world, few competing companies have managed to display capabilities similar to those seen in Atlas. Except one! NASA's Rononaut offers hand-like claws.
