How to make the Bahian version of chicken with okra from Minas Gerais?

This delicious recipe takes 1 hour to prepare and makes approximately 6 servings. Check now the necessary elements for your preparation.

Ingredients

  • 5 cloves of garlic;
  • 1 large onion finely chopped;
  • Half a green pepper;
  • Pepper and salt to taste;
  • Green smell to taste;
  • 1 kg of okra;
  • 1 kg of thigh and drumstick;
  • Coconut milk;
  • 1 cup of tea oil.

Method of preparation

Before starting the preparation of the dish, it is necessary to season the chicken in advance, so that it is very tasty. For this, use a little crushed garlic, salt, pepper and paprika (our recommendation). If you like, you can also add vinegar to the mix. Afterwards, leave it in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

After that, make a nice stir-fry with the garlic, onion and green pepper. Then add the thigh and drumstick to the coconut milk, partially diluted in water, seasoned with green seasoning and other condiments to taste.

So, with the okra already washed and dry, cut it into thin slices. Then, in another pan, heat a cup of oil and add the chopped okra, letting it sauté until it no longer has any drool. This process can take about 20 minutes.

Finally, after 30 minutes of cooking the chicken mixture with the coconut milk, add the braised okra to the pan. Soon after, wait to cook for a while longer and taste to see if there is a need for more seasoning. If so, make the necessary adjustments and it will be ready to serve!
