Drivers from all over Brazil today found extremely high prices for fuel at pumps in several states. Data from the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP) show that at least 23 states sell regular diesel (S-500) for more than R$8. Fuel price increase can be seen in several states
About Gasoline, the price is also higher than R$8 in at least 17 states. According to the agency's survey, lower fuel prices, more specifically diesel, were found in the country in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, with a value of R$ 6.29 per liter. Rio Grande do Sul appears in third place, with a product that costs, on average, R$ 6.39 per liter of diesel.
States where fuel is more expensive
Based on the ANP's weekly price survey, released on June 24, the states where diesel is more expensive are Acre (R$ 8.95), Mato Grosso (R$ 8.91) and Minas Gerais (R$ 8.89).
On the other hand, the three states that are recording the highest gas prices, according to the ANP, are São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia. In São Paulo, a liter of gasoline costs R$8.89, while in Rio de Janeiro the cost of a typical gallon of gasoline is R$8.69. The price of gasoline in Bahia, where the main refinery was privatized, is US$8.54.
States where fuel is cheaper
The places where gasoline prices are currently the cheapest in the country were also determined by a weekly study promoted by the ANP. In the states of Amapá and Mato Grosso, gasoline is sold at R$6.40 and R$6.30 per liter, respectively.
