Hate speech verbalized in game chats will be picked up by artificial intelligence. In fact, there are those who don't know that some online games are already using AI to identify phrases of harassment, violence and decriminalization. The machine is called ToxMod, used to analyze different conversations between players present on the platform.
Upon detecting an aggressive phrase, the AI will signal to the game community what has been happening. The idea came from the company Modulate, from Massachusetts, and is being tested in different esports companies. Riot Games, owner of the game League of Legends, with more than 100 million monthly active players, is also testing AI, as well as Rec Room, Virtex Stadium, PokerStars It is gun raiders.

According to Modulate CEO Carter Huffman, demand can provide ample resources for companies:
“You could have hundreds of millions or billions of hours of voice chat per month […] Our job is to filter it all out. this down to the core of the things that are really making the player experience worse and having a negative impact,” stated.
The negative impact of hate speech, as recorded, reached 70% of preteens, 66% of teenagers and 86% of adults who reported suffering from verbal abuse while playing online games, as stated in the Anti-Defamation League 2022 report. Another 20% of adults and 15% of young people reported a dominance of white people participating in the games call of duty, Valorant, World of Warcraft, fortnite and others.
Artificial intelligence will detect hate speech in games
AI assertions make use of a range of used features. When identifying the violation of the community, verbally exposing offensive attitudes, the communication will be analyzed in detail.
In particular, each company that uses AI chooses the way in which it will inform its users that they are being accompanied by a robot during communication. The trend in creation is to make the virtual gaming environment a place where people can feel comfortable.
Verbal communication will be analysed, but non-verbal speeches will not go unpunished by the AI either, such as creation of groups represented by the Nazi symbol or the manifestation of hatred through actions within one's own game.
