Tea recipe using onion skins

This tea is useful for alleviating flu and cold symptoms, such as cough and sore throat, it also minimizes water retention thanks to its diuretic effect, which increases the volume of urine.

Anthocyanin is a pigment present in some vegetables and recognized as a bioactive compound due to its anti-inflammatory action. The onion peel is rich in this substance, that is, its tea also has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Preparation

First of all, clean the onion to remove dirt and microorganisms such as fungi, bacteria and viruses. The ratio of the mixture to sanitize is 1:1, a tablespoon of sodium hypochlorite or bleach to a liter of water.

Prepare the mixture, place the peels and wait for about 10 minutes. Then wash in running water.

For the preparation you will need the following ingredients: water and husks of one onion.

Method of preparation:

Boil approximately 200 ml of water (one cup) in a pan and add the skins of an onion.

Turn off the heat and then leave the pan covered and wait about 10 minutes (more or less the time needed to warm the tea).

Transfer the tea to a cup of your choice and, ready, just consume.

If you want to sweeten, use sugar or honey, but in moderation; approximately one teaspoon.

Finally, when you want to make more tea, just double or triple the proportions of the ingredients.
