On December 6th, in Rio de Janeiro, the ceremony of the Most Beautiful Can in Brazil Award was held, organized by Abralatas (Brazilian Association of Aluminum Can Manufacturers). The ceremony awarded the most beautiful and creative cans this year.
The president of Abralatas, Cátilo Cândido, commented on the motivation for creating more creative cans on the market. He also mentions that the award is intended to value the well-crafted work that national breweries have proposed.
“The cans have been conquering the preference of Brazilian consumers day after day. Awarding the most beautiful woman in Brazil is a difficult task with so many colors, labels, designs and sizes. We resort to a team of designers and specialized professionals and we have thousands of votes from the consuming public", pointed out Cândido about the growth for the preference of personalized cans in the act of purchase.
The choice of the most beautiful can in Brazil was made by judges. In addition to the jury's evaluation, the public can also vote. The competition featured three categories, and you can check which were the winning breweries below.
Microbreweries
In honor of International Women's Day, the Masterpiece brewery, from Rio de Janeiro, created the beer “Às Mulheres”. This was the champion of the Microbreweries category. The can is stamped by two women, being a creation of the artist Pri Barbosa.
O CEO from Masterpiece, André Valle, commented on the award received.
“We were very honored and happy with the result because it is the materialization of a project that was thought to be entirely carried out by a team of women from start to finish, from the production of the physical can to the final filling, everything was done by professionals feminine. It was a special project and we are very happy”, commented Valle upon winning the award.
The second place went to the “Viking Imperial IPA”, from the Odin brewery, in Rio de Janeiro. Third place was guaranteed by “Helles de Curitiba”, from the Bodebrown brewery, in Paraná.
Medium Breweries
In this category, the beer from the state of São Paulo “Wienbier 59 Session IPA”, from the Newage brewery, won first place. Newage designer Rodrigo Beck commented on the achievement.
“For us, this award is very important, as it brings recognition at a national level and that will value the Wienbier brand even more in the market, in addition to giving us more visibility off-axis south-southeast,” he said.
In second place is the “Wienbier 60 APA”, also from Wienbier. In third place comes the “BierBaum Lager”, from the Bierbaum brewery, in Santa Catarina.
great breweries
Standing out in the “Big Breweries” category, Ambev won all podium positions. First is the “Colorado Indica” and then the “Goose Island Midway Session IPA”. Closing the podium, in third place, was “Patagônia IPA”.
Rudson Ferdinando, representative of Colorado/Ambev, commented on the growth of IPA in the Brazilian market:
“Indica was the first IPA produced in Brazil and was born with that label, and today it is being reproduced in cans, bringing this tradition and representing the hops of this traditional English IPA. It means a lot to us even today to receive design awards because we realize that our creativity continues to flow very well and represent the legacy of our creators”, he highlighted.
