Learn how to make Sicilian cake

Sicilian cake will surprise citrus sweets lovers of all skill levels. The truth is that this fruit has a sweeter taste than clove or Tahiti lime, making anyone love this dessert. Check out the items needed to make it and how to prepare it below.

ingredients for dough

For the dough, you will need:

  • 1/2 cup oil;
  • 1 whole Sicilian lemon;
  • 2 dessert spoons of chemical yeast;
  • 2 cups of sugar;
  • 2 whole eggs;
  • 1 cup of milk;
  • 3 cups of wheat flour.

Ingredients for topping

To make the Sicilian cake frosting, all you'll need to have on hand is half a glass of lemon juice and a box of condensed milk.

Method of preparation

To begin with, you will need to put the peeled lemon cut into pieces along with the oil, sugar, eggs and milk in the blender, and let it beat until a homogeneous mass is formed. At the end of this process, strain the mixture and leave it resting in a container.

After 5 minutes, put the wheat flour and baking powder and take it to the blender again. After the dough is well uniform, pour it into a greased baking dish and place it in the oven at 180ºC. While the cake dough is baking, you can prepare the icing. To do this, just add the ingredients for the syrup in a pan over medium heat and mix until it thickens. In the end, just unmold the cake and add the frosting on top.
