How will spring be in Brazil this year?
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) even issued an orange alert for some stretches of the South and Southeast valid for the hours before the arrival of spring. With the orange band, the forecast is for rain and also winds of up to 100 km / h.
Intense air mass and extratropical cyclone passage
There is a mass of polar air considered strong for this period of the year and the passage is still taking place. of an extratropical cyclone along the coast and, consequently, these events are affecting the climate in the country. Thus, until the beginning of October the days should alternate between colder temperatures and days with milder weather.
What will spring be like in the different regions of Brazil?
- At the Midwest, the trend is for rainfall at the historical average and even above it. However, according to Inmet, there is forecast of rain a little below the average in the center and south of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and in the east of Mato Grosso;
- In the region South the forecast is for rain, but lower than expected in most of the region, due to a phenomenon called La Niña. Thus, temperatures should remain close to and slightly below average in much of this region;
- At the Southeast, in turn, above-average rainfall is expected this season. Therefore, temperatures should be below average in most of the region due to regular rains, mainly in November;
- In the region North above average rainfall is forecast between October and December, especially in Amapá, also due to the influence of La Niña and due to the warmer water pattern on the coast;
- At the North East, temperatures should remain similar in all states in the region and above the historical average. However, the Inmet indicates that there is a forecast of above average rainfall due to La Niña, except in the eastern part of the region, where there is a probability of rainfall with a volume close to the average.
