1st step: disinfect

Sanitizing your dumpster should start when you remove the waste that is in it and separate it for disposal. Then, with the trash can empty, you will have to disinfect and remove all the dirt residues that were left on the object. To do this, you can use boiling water, just pour approximately one liter into the entire trash can to remove waste and eliminate bacteria and germs. Also, you can complete this step with a few drops of bleach, which will ensure complete cleaning.

Step 2: Get rid of the odor

Soon after, you will have to get rid of the bad smell that can remain in the trash can. This step will not be so laborious, since the boiling water itself already manages to eliminate all the residues that generate odors. However, complete the hygiene with the good old tip of soapy water, and use a brush to reach every corner of the dump. Another tip is to use a little disinfectant of the aroma that you like, to make the environment more pleasant.

3rd step: let it dry

Many people are even used to doing the previous two steps, but make mistakes because they don't let the trash dry. However, this step is very important, as the rest of the water in the bin will help to make it wetter. Thus, the new waste will be wetter than it already is, generating more odor and bacteria. Therefore, place the bin in direct sunlight and let it dry. That way it will be ready to be used once again. Also, remember to repeat the process whenever the container is full of material and you need to dispose of them. This cleaning frequency will ensure your health and hygiene in your kitchen.
