The restart of life in Earth is one of the most curious subjects of all time. Since there are no human records of what happened during that period, researchers are hard at work looking for clues to what might have happened. Today the Science already have an idea of what happened to life during that time, including, it is possible to know which animals came back to life first.

the great extinction
The Earth went through a period known today as the Permian. During this period, the planet was in an almost desert scenario, which favored the rise of reptiles.
At the end of the Permian period, many animals died out, and some species even became extinct. The cause of this disappearance is still a question for scientists, since there is no consensus on the subject. The most accepted idea is that a large meteor impacted the Earth and particles from the almost desert environment were lifted. Thus, sunlight was prevented from reaching the plants, which succumbed and impacted the entire food chain.
Animals that came back to life first
Following evolution, it is remarkable that species managed to recover from this great extinction, since the planet is already rehabilitated. But, a question remains in the air: which were the first animals to recover?
Below are some examples of animals that, according to scientific evidence, came back to life quickly:
- Brachiopods;
- Bryozoans;
- Shellfish;
- Corals.
These animals lived in the water and had a depository function: they live at the bottom of the sea and feed on small organic particles. The role of these animals was essential in helping the aquatic environment to become habitable again. In this way, other species had a chance to evolve after the great extinction.
