According to data provided by the security consulting firm B4 Risk, the rates of thefts and thefts of motorcycles in São Paulo registered an increase of 27.3% in the first four months of 2023, compared to the same period of the year previous.
While this is a significant increase, it is important to note that this percentage is slightly lower than increase recorded throughout the year 2022, as disclosed by the Secretariat of Public Security of the State.

The Álvares Penteado School of Commerce Foundation (FECAP), in collaboration with the tracking company Tracker, carried out a study that identified the models of motorcycles that have been targets of crime.
On a large scale, the preference of criminals has mainly impacted motoboys and delivery service delivery people, who become frequent targets of vehicle thefts and thefts.
The study carried out by the Álvares Penteado School of Commerce Foundation (FECAP), together with the tracking Tracker, was based on the analysis of police reports registered at the São Paulo Civil Police Paul. This survey revealed a disturbing ranking of the 10 motorcycles most targeted by criminals in the region.
Notably, most of the thieves' favorite models are part of Honda's low-displacement portfolio, although there are two exceptions represented by Yamaha's two best-selling models.
There were 14,408 incidents recorded, compared to 11,295 cases in the same period of the previous year, representing a significant increase of 27.3%.
Of these occurrences, 66.57% are classified as thefts, when there is no use of force or threat in the act of crime. The remaining 33.43% are characterized as robberies, in which vehicles are taken by threat or force, generating a growing concern among drivers in the state.
