The study showed that a regular daily dose can act directly on the body and treat cancers of the upper intestinal tract. Follow the text for more details about the search.
The main bases of the study
Research carried out by the Universities of Newcastle and Leeds, published on July 25 in Cancer Preservation Research, a magazine from the United States, showed that the starch present in some foods obtained good responses in the treatment of cancer.
This research has great importance for the scientific scope, after all the effects are very promising and allow the creation of a specific starch for the treatment of the disease.
Thus, according to nutrition professor John Mathers, starch can reduce upper bowel attacks by up to 60%. These are difficult cancers to identify, but with the new treatment and early diagnosis it will be possible to obtain good results.
The long term results
The beginning of the research took place between the years 1999 and 2005, in which the participants began to take pure starch daily with the aim of reducing the situation and preventing future problems.
One part took aspirin and another part starch. At first, there was no difference between the two groups of participants. However, what caught the researchers' attention was the fact that only 5 of the 463 participants developed cancer.
Now the team is focused on a larger study with 1,800 participants for the treatment of Lynch syndrome. They will be part of the study to find out whether doses of aspirin can be used to reduce the risk of cancer.
