Step by step to grow strawberries at home

Having your own strawberry garden at home is perfectly possible and has become a real trend. Thus, growing the fruit is simple and economical, as you only need pet bottles and care for your new plant. See the step by step below!

  • Pet bottle

If you don't want to spend money buying pots to plant the strawberries, just select some pet bottles. So, wash them and, in the middle of the bottle, cut two squares of approximately 20 centimeters, one on each side.

Then make several holes in the base of the bottle so that the water can drain. Then, drill a hole just below the mouth of the bottle to pass a string and hang it on the wall.

Also, add a two-centimeter layer of clay at the bottom and only then add the soil to the middle of the bottle.

  • Fertilizer

Before planting strawberries, fertilize the soil to provide necessary nutrients to the soil and help the plant to grow. You can use egg shells, coffee grounds and worm hummus.

  • Planting

Now that the pet bottle with fertilized soil is ready, just place the strawberry seedling and cover it with soil and humus. Water the plant, but don't soak the soil.

  • Irrigation

The land where the strawberries are planted needs to be moist all the time. However, remember not to soak the soil, as the plant's roots can easily rot, causing its death.

  • sun exposure

Strawberries don't usually like strong sunlight. In this case, just place your plant exposed to the sun for 3 hours a day, and preferably in the morning, so as not to harm the strawberries.
