In 2022, Brazil is going through one of the biggest crises in its history. In fact, events related to the Covid-19 pandemic directly affected the country's economic dynamics. Furthermore, to contribute to this scenario, in February of this year Russia invaded Ukraine, directly affecting the entire world in terms of the price of a barrel of oil.

In the face of this chaotic scenario, from the world to the national scale, the Brazilian population has been losing purchasing power every month, starting to have no access to basic consumer goods. However, as the economic scenario is not favorable, many people have lost their jobs and are living, basically, the aid that the government has been granting, trying to positively reach the population in one year electoral.
Thus, a survey carried out by economist Ecio Costa, full professor at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), in partnership with P3 Intelligence, based on data from the Ministry of Citizenship and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), demonstrates that Auxílio Brasil has been representing around 10% of the local economy in 648 municipalities (11.6% of the total).
In view of this, it is worth mentioning that most of these municipalities are located in the Northeast region. Bahia (146), Piauí (124) and Maranhão (116) are the states with the highest number of cities represent, basically, 10% of the municipal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) referring to the aid paid by the Federal government. In short, these data are somewhat worrying as, in theory, they prove that the search for a job is increasingly difficult for a large part of the Brazilian population.
