Furthermore, Saturn's atmosphere reveals surprising and unexpected details. The planet is currently experiencing summer at the North Pole, with the southern hemisphere emerging from the winter gloom.

Over the decades, missions such as Pioneer 11, Voyagers 1 and 2, the Cassini spacecraft and the Space Telescope hubblehave studied Saturn's atmosphere and rings, providing valuable information about this fascinating planet.

about the planet

Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second largest in the world. Solar system, second only to Jupiter.

Classified as a gas giant, it has a small rocky core surrounded by a thick layer of metallic hydrogen and helium.

Its atmosphere, composed mostly of hydrogen, is streaked with intense winds fueled by solar heat and radiated energy from its core.

Despite the dense fog and cloud layers, occasionally large storm systems and permanent vortices appear at the poles, providing a unique and fascinating spectacle.
