Scientists discover rare ocean planet twice the size of Earth

When people say you're just a grain of sand in the universe, they're right. There are thousands of galaxies and planets that not even human beings suspect. It is possible that somewhere, intelligent beings are creating new ways of living. In this case, a group of astronomers has identified a rare planet larger than Earth that appears to be covered by an ocean.

In search of exoplanets outside the solar system

An exoplanet is a planet orbiting a star outside our solar system. Those planets they are located in distant star systems and represent an area of interest in modern astronomy.

This study identifies the stars, mainly through images and tests in large laboratories, such as NASA (National Administration of Aeronautics and Space). The characterization of exoplanets facilitates the understanding of planetary diversity.

The research that found Arare, the rare oceanic planet, was carried out by Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. Therefore, the reports were published in Astronomy & Astrophysics Magazine.

In the first records, the Arare surprised the group of researchers, due to the presence of water vapor around the globe. Therefore, it was observed by NASA's TESS telescope, receiving the identification of TOI-733b.

Considering the analyses, two hypotheses were mentioned: it was completely covered with water or it had lost its atmosphere. This happens because although it is larger than the Earth, its weight is less.

How does a planet develop in the universe?

Centers for astronomical studies try to find planets and exoplanets in order to find out how they develop. This search continues to strengthen certain theories and raise other hypotheses.

The rare ocean planet, which became known as Arare, is similar to Neptune, located in the Solar System. In this sense, just think that the place is humid, so that the steam creates a thin layer of fog.
