In January of this year, McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski had already anticipated the company's plans, which planned to fire employees as a way to restructure the company.

Just like technology companies, McDonald's will communicate the dismissal of employees by email and all those who are dismissed will receive the dismissal notice.

To protect the privacy of the dismissed employees, McDonald's closed its offices in the US from Monday to Wednesday, with the aim of joining the measure with the Easter holiday.

In addition to office closures, McDonald's management also ordered the cancellation of meetings with suppliers and other people outside the company.

According to Kempczinski, in a statement issued in January, the layoffs are not to cut costs, as happens in other sectors, such as information technology.

For the CEO of McDonald's, it is necessary to enable the company's innovation and efficiency. For this, certain initiatives will be discontinued, leading to the dismissal of employees.

The fast food chain is considered one of the best known in the world and employs more than 150,000 workers, divided between restaurants and offices. An estimated 45,000 people work in the US.
