Electric car sales in 2021 break record
The year 2021 was very favorable for sales of electric vehicles and the numbers prove it. The International Energy Agency carried out a survey that showed a participation of 8.57% of these cars in 2021. By contrast, in 2020 it was only 4.11%, so growth was more than double last year.

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, 2020 was not very good for the general car market. However, going against this drop, electric car sales rose to 3 million, taking up 4.1% of total sales.
Furthermore, according to a Financial Times report, sales of zero-emission vehicles have surpassed those of gasoline-powered cars in Europe for the first time in history. In this sense, some models were highlighted, such as Tesla's.

In Brazil it is not being different. Although with a more timid participation, electric cars are also gaining ground here. Thus, there were 2,860 registrations of this type of car registered in the country in 2021, with the Nissan Leaf Tekna topping the list, with 439 sales.
