The aging process is natural and we all face it, but some successful individuals are willing to invest millions of dollars in pursuit of youtheternal. One such individual is tech entrepreneur and billionaire Bryan Johnson, who spends an estimated $2 million (R$10 million) a year on anti-aging treatments.
Johnson recently gained attention for performing a blood plasma exchange with his 17-year-old son, Talmage, and 70-year-old father, Richard.

The plasma exchange process
Plasma exchange is a medical procedure in which plasma from one person is replaced with plasma from another. In Bryan Johnson's case, he underwent a procedure called "multigenerational plasmapheresis," in which his son and his father also participated.
According to a Bloomberg report, the procedure took place at Resurgence Wellness, a medical spa in Texas. First, Talmage had a liter of his blood removed, separated into liquid plasma and blood cells, including red cells, white cells and platelets.
Then Bryan underwent the same process, with the condition that he received the same amount of his son's plasma in his veins. Ultimately, the billionaire's father had some of his own blood drained to make way for Bryan's plasma.
Although the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advises against infusion of young blood due to lack of evidence convincing clinicians about its effectiveness, Johnson's medical team endorsed the procedure as a possible treatment for cognitive.
Traditional use of plasmapheresis
Plasmapheresis is already used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of conditions, such as liver disease, burns, and blood disorders. However, it is not used as a means of reversing aging.
Quest for youth has not started now
It is not the first time that Bryan Johnson has sought youth through blood transfusions. The American entrepreneur had already received blood transfusions from anonymous young donors he selected personally based on criteria such as ideal body mass index, absence of disease and lifestyle healthy.
These blood transfusions are part of Johnson's anti-aging routine, an integral part of his most recent project, called Project Blueprint.
