A recent EWG report includes a list of 46 fruits and vegetables that have been tested for pesticide contamination based on previously collected data.
Avocados and corn lead the list of the “clean fifteen”, while strawberries and spinach lead the list of the “dirty dozen”, which are foods “rich” in pesticide residues.

- Papaya;
- Pea;
- Asparagus;
- Melon;
- Kiwi;
- Cabbage;
- Mushroom;
- Mango;
- Sweet potato;
- Watermelon;
- Carrot.
The report issued by the EWG also highlights that almost 65% of the fruit and vegetable samples included in the twelve clean group did not show detectable pesticide residues.
Additionally, all samples of the top six production items on the list tested negative for at least three different types of pesticides.
To give you an idea, in the avocado and maize samples analyzed, less than 2% of those showed any traces of detectable pesticides.
