Among respondents who resigned, 44% left voluntarily because they weren't happy, 42.65% were looking for new challenges, 27.94% did not feel valued and 19.12% were people who did not have a good relationship with management.
Why aren't people happy at work?
In an interview with Forbes, the director of Robert Half, Maria Sartori, pointed out that this result is a reflection of a new awareness of employees in the labor market.
In the past, the lack of a good relationship with managers was the main reason for leaving a job. However, professionals are now better able to understand the dissatisfaction they have with their jobs. Therefore, they are able to state that they are voluntarily leaving because they are not happy in their current position.
Even in 2023, the main challenges for management and the HR department will be to be able to motivate and retain current employees. 75% of respondents who work with recruitment believe that it is difficult or very difficult to attract new qualified talent.
The study selected people aged 25 years or older and with higher education to analyze the profile considered as qualified for some current positions. The public of this age group already has another perspective on happiness, career and the labor market.
The reflections of the research point out that work is part of people's journey of happiness. Thus, it is not just remuneration that determines the continuity of an employment relationship.
For the CEO of The School of Life Brasil, Diana Gabanyi, in addition to salaries, people want companies are a good environment, open to exchanges and recognition for good work developed.
