PIS can be consulted with CPF from this month

To receive salary allowance, unemployment insurance or the balance of your FGTS account (Fundo de Garantia do Tempo de Serviço), you need to know your Social Identification Number (NIS), also known as PIS/PASEP or NIT. But what is salary allowance?

The PIS/Pasep wage allowance is a transfer of minimum wages to public servants and workers of eligible private companies. It is a bonus for these citizens and is usually released in the second year of the working period.

Who is entitled to this payment?

To be able to receive this payment, you must meet certain requirements. Check it out below:

  • Be enrolled for at least 5 years in the PIS;
  • Have rendered service for at least 30 days, consecutive or not, in the base year;
  • Having received up to two minimum wages per month in the base year;
  • Have current and correct data in the Annual Social Information List (Rais).

How to query the PIS number by CPF?

To find out your number, just follow some very simple steps and, in addition, it is possible to check your contribution time with Social Security.

  • First, access the “My INSS” portal;
  • Enter and register.

A pop-up window will open and ask you to register. If you haven't already done so, fill in the requested data (CPF, date of birth, name, email, cell phone, mother's name and state) and create your account. This way, you will be able to login.

  • Allow access to your personal data;

You must authorize access to your personal information in order to use the service. Read the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy at the specified link if you want to know about your privacy rights.

  • Confirm your details;

The system will ask you to validate your personal data. Answer the questions that appear on the screen. Remember that this step is necessary to enable your user account on the system.

  • Log in again and enter “My Registration”;

You can find all your personal data stored in the system in this “My Registration” area, including your NIS number. So, go to Elos CNIS, where your number is designated as NIT.
