Check now how Spotify wants to invest in audiobooks and what difficulties the company will face to guarantee the success of this novelty:

What many users have been waiting for

While still restricted to US users, the app isn't marketing that service as it does its subscription-based music.

The purchase of audiobooks will be made one by one by the user, that is, those who subscribe to Spotify will still not be able to access the new content if they do not purchase them separately.

With this novelty, Spotify has already made available more than 300,000 audiobook titles, also expanding to the international market.

The intention to limit this offer is justified by the company, which informs that it wants to first test this new tool in the American market and then take it to other regions.

The Difficulties Spotify Faces

Despite being a great idea, and with the rise of podcasts the success of audiobooks seems obvious, the platform faces some difficulties in achieving its goals.

The launch of new Spotify content was marked by some disagreements with Apple and it is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that a disagreement has occurred between the companies.

Given this, the reason for this confusion lies in the rules of app store. Spotify claims that Apple takes a 30% fee for every app downloaded.
Spotify even tried to avoid these fees, which he judged to be absurd, but failed.

This problem makes it difficult for the platform to grow with audiobooks since it is already behind in its expansion.

There are many companies growing with this tool, while the most popular music platform is struggling to implement this new feature.
