With the increase in the occurrence of criminal scams through the Tinder application, the intervention of the authorities in specific cases has become increasingly necessary. Therefore, a channel in Portuguese is being created to assist the work of these professionals.
The novelty came from an agreement between the Specialized Action Group of the Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo (MP-SP) and Tinder. The idea is to implement a new channel that works 24 hours a day, every day, to provide the necessary information to the officers.

The new Tinder channel should start operating this Monday (10) and aims to facilitate the request for platform data and the sending of information linked to court orders. Therefore, the novelty will facilitate the investigation and protection processes of platform users.
Who will benefit from the new
The benefit of the new service channel is aimed at police authorities, prosecutors and judges. The tool will provide all the necessary information so that these professionals can proceed with the investigation processes of the cases.
“The goal is to enable faster responses to requests relating to data associated with the location of victims of ongoing crimes and agents criminals responsible for their practice, observing the parameters set out in the Civil Rights Framework for the Internet and in related legislation", was what the MP himself said in note.
In addition, the novelty also brings an alert from the MP so that people increase their protection against scams practiced on social networks, as in the Tinder. It is necessary to be aware of cases involving the dissemination of false information, financial scams and, in the most extreme cases, kidnapping.
How to protect yourself from Tinder scams
One of the main recommendations is to prevent scams, paying attention to some details during your interactions. Therefore, in some cases, it is possible to perceive signs that may indicate the structuring of a coup or crime.
So pay attention to details about the person you are talking to, check photos, talk to acquaintances and find out about the contact. Also, avoid arranging Tinder dates in low-traffic places, as these are more conducive to scams and kidnappings.
Also, pay attention to the information you share on social media. Criminals often seek out people who flaunt expensive lifestyles and luxury items, thus becoming targets for these criminals to initiate interaction.
