A favorite Coca-Cola flavor is discontinued and consumers demand its return

Coca-Cola is the leader when it comes to soft drinks. The brand has several versions of this drink, one of which was introduced in the 1980s in the United States under the name Diet Cherry CokIt is. Its last update took place in 2018, when it was rebranded as Diet Coke Fiesty Cherry.

However, consumers did not welcome this replacement, claiming that the cherry flavor was much stronger. Let's understand more about this version of Coca-Cola.

Coca Cola Variations

For those unaware, Coca-Cola has already released a cherry-flavored soda. This version was, oddly enough, a favorite among many North American consumers. However, two years after the last update, in 2018, the brand decided to withdraw this drink from the market.

Given this scenario, a Twitter user questioned whether the company had plans to re-market Diet Cherry Coke. Coca-Cola's response was that there are no plans to do so, although the drink can still be found in the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine.

It is important to emphasize that the common Cherry Coke was only launched in Brazil in 1994, but soon went out of circulation because it did not please the Brazilian public. Therefore, the diet version was not even introduced in the country.

Other discontinued flavors

The company constantly seeks to create new combinations to remain competitive in the market. After all, since 1886, Coca-Cola has dominated the soft drink industry.

In addition to the cherry flavor, other flavors have also been discontinued. We can mention Diet Coke Lime, which also left the market in 2018.

For millennials, flavors like Twisted Mango, Zesty Blood Orange, Feisty Cherry, and Ginger Lime were released. However, consumers claim that the latter, for example, got worse after being reformulated by the company.

On the market for over a decade, Orange Vanilla also had its production ended in 2022. However, details of this decision were not provided.
