Let the pets roam around the kitchen
The first cooking habit you must break is the practice of allowing Pets visit the kitchen. As much as we love our furry friends, they have no place in the environment where food is produced.
Pets, especially dogs and cats, can spread hair and bacteria around the environment, which can contaminate food. In addition, they can cause accidents, such as dropping objects or getting burned. So, for everyone's safety, it's best to keep pets out of the kitchen!
Use the same sponge to wash everything
The second bad habit is using the same sponge to wash all kitchen utensils. It is a place where bacteria love to breed.
If you use the same sponge to wash the cutting board and then the dishes, for example, you could end up transferring harmful bacteria from one item to another.
Therefore, it is essential to use different sponges for each task or, at least, clean them properly and regularly.
Cut food directly on the countertop
The last bad cooking habit we want to talk about is cutting food directly on the counter. Kitchen countertops are often made of hard, porous materials that can harbor bacteria in their cracks and crevices.
Also, cutting directly into the countertop can damage it. It is much safer and more hygienic to use a cutting board, preferably a wooden or plastic one, which can be easily cleaned.
Now that you know these three dangerous habits in the kitchen, it's time to make a change. Remember: a safe and hygienic kitchen is an essential step in creating delicious and healthy dishes.
