Sausage-wrapped potato chips recipe

Common in bars and restaurants in Rio de Janeiro, french fries with sausage are a favorite among regular customers. According to scholars, sausage croc was created at a luxury dinner in Portugal, and today it is a hit in bars in Rio. Check out the recipe below:

Ingredients

  • 500 g of asterix or tent potatoes;
  • 300 g of boiled appetizer sausage, cut in half;
  • Frying oil.

Method of preparation

First, clean the potatoes and cut them into slices about 1.5 millimeters thick. If you prefer, you can resort to the help of a tool called a mandoline. Then place the slices in a bowl with plenty of cold water and ice for 15 minutes. Dry the potatoes with a dish towel or paper towel, wrap them in the sausages and close with toothpicks. Finally, let the oil boil a lot and put the potatoes to fry until they are golden.

Serve your sausage croc differently

A good aperitif should always be accompanied by a delicious drink. Thus, a great option for this recipe is the carambola caipirinha, a refreshing, light drink that combines with the taste of croc. Also, you can prepare sauces to serve along with your sausage croc. See some options:
