Proteins: what are they?
Proteins are macromolecules that fuel our body so that we can have energy during the day, and therefore it is important to have a right amount of your intake. In addition, it is composed of amino acids that are present in all living beings, but also have varied functions in our body.
Some of these essential functions for the body are: structural, by building collagen, keratin and muscle mass; hormonal; enzymatic; in defense, by antibodies; hemoglobin transport; and in nutrition, as they are essential for us to have energy.
