Last Thursday, the 17th, a newborn baby was placed inside a backpack and thrown into the Capibaribe River. The main suspect in crime is a man who used a motorcycle whose license plate has not yet been identified. Two fishermen who were at the site, located in the Tiúma neighborhood of the city of São Lourenço da Mata, located in the metropolitan region of Recife, saw the little girl and rescued her still alive.

Newborn is rescued
According to information released by the Hospital e Maternidade Petronilda Campos, the baby had not apparent injuries, but it was notable that her umbilical cord had been cut so as not to professional. Civil Police in the region are investigating the case and looking for those involved.
The fishermen who rescued the child said in an interview that they were under the Bicopeba bridge and saw a backpack falling into the water. Upon witnessing this, they decided to take the object. Arnaldo, one of the fishermen, reported that he noticed that the bag was moving. Her partner imagined that there was a dog there and that they needed to remove the supposed animal from the backpack, since it was a small defenseless animal that deserved to live.
When they opened the backpack, both were surprised and a lot.
Pedro, Arnaldo's colleague, reported that when he opened the bag and saw that instead of a dog there was a baby, he cried at the situation. After contacting the Pernambuco Military Police (PMPE) to ask for help, both reported that the crime was committed by a man on a motorcycle, but the license plate was not written down.
After the rescue, the newborn was sent to the hospital, where she was under observation for 48 hours, but was handed over to the authorities last Saturday, the 19th. The hospital reported that she did not have any injuries, trauma or anything considered worrisome. Therefore, her health condition was stable.
Not much is known about the little girl, much less who her parents are, but the police are still investigating so that the suspect in the attempted murder is found.
